silicone souls darkroom dubs label has pulled off quite a coup with their latest release. taking a retrospective look through the labels archive, the duo approached some of their favourite producers, asking them to rework and give their own take some of the music from previous releases... and boy are we in for a treat! the coup in question was the securing of the talents of a certain mr robag wruhme. currently enjoying the acclaim generated from his exquisite long player, >thora vukk< (pampa), wruhme has kindly turned his attention to remixing extrawelts >neuland< for darkroom dubs. the lead track from their 2010 >neuland< marked a key moment for the label, as silicone soul celebrated the signing of an act that they had admired for many years. robag provides not one, but two reworks of the stunning original, each as impressive and moving as the other. the second rework sees john selway turning filippo mancinelli & allen mays >the hills< on its head. the deepness of the 2009 original, is still in evidence as the atmospheric sounds sweep within selways wonderfully driving tech reconstruction.

oliver schleenvoigt is not only the half of the famous duo monoroom, he just knows how to bring the studio flavour directly to the dancefloor. after his smashing kunstflug ep on ostwind, munika is the second solo single of oliver and so chase buch (kling klong / ministry of sound london) didnt hesitate to put his gold fingers on one of these great original tracks. keep pimpin!

and are a duo living in manchester, uk. they have released a split 12 inch with 16 bit on mindset in 2009, the second 12 inch on black sun records that came out recently and a couple of 12 inches on horizontal ground. they sent me various batches of tracks spanning a wide range of sounds, all rooted in techno to my ears but spanning different tempos, emphasis and mood. i selected three of those tracks to appear on this ep, ranging between 130 and 135 bpm. >dysfunction<, hannulelauris first ep on i m a cliche goes beyond the dreamy, cosmic atmosphere of their previous releases and remixes on other eurodisco labels. the duos new sound still sends us floating but with an edgier, more toxic ride. hannu and lauri aka hannulelauri created a track for i m a cliche, a remix of botoxs hit >blue steel<. this track inspired the label to make more room for the finnish duo and bring their new music into its discography.
these two have been active figures in helsinkis club scene for quite a while, producing music together since 2006. when they crossed the borders of finland, the name of the band was pretty hard to retain but it didnt take long for all the bigwigs of modern disco to memorize it. two originals and a selection of remixes: >dysfunction< steps into the territory of deep melodic house with a classic resonance >box of box< throws around some fun rough beats toby tobias remix of dysfunction is iced with elegance and soulfulness. populettes remix of >box of box< is the new best friend of house dancers.

the production duo of dual process, aka dj java and dj ben j, have been in the drum & bass scene since before it was being called the drum & bass scene. initially as ravers, then djs, and now as producers, they have been witness to the progression of the various sub genres that are now present in todays spectrum of drum & bass music. after releases individually and collectively on several different labels dual process are ready to launch their own label aimed at the particular sub genre that they have successfully played in raves, clubs and on radio for the last few years. straight up, dance floor, jump up is whats going to be on offer from audio hostage records, and to kick things off we have two heavy slices of face churning, bass ridden, ignorance capable of setting mcs to self destruct and levelling any sound system. both tracks are getting heavy support from a range of djs and radio stations such as, hype, crissy criss, taxman, nicky black market, brockie, ss, jack frost, ash attack, hoodlum, logan d, profile, pappa g, vital elements, spice, origin fm and kool fm.
